What benefits do I get by paying a monthly fee?

Unlike other banks, we offer a fee-free banking experience with unlimited wires, ACH payments, ATM withdrawals, and deposits at no additional charge from us.

We also pass you a significant chunk of the money we make from your deposits in terms of interest and from your card transactions in terms of rewards points.

How does this subscription-based account compare to traditional bank accounts?

Unlike traditional bank accounts which charge a fee if you don’t hold a minimum balance or levy fees for basic banking activities like sending a wire, Winden has a flat-fee model.

With this flat fee, you know what you are getting and can easily offset your costs by keeping and spending more of your money with Winden.

Can I still use my account for free even if I don't pay the monthly fee?

If you have opened an account on and after May 5, 2023, we cannot offer a free account at this time if you choose not to pay the monthly fee.

Customers who have opened an account before this date will continue to have free access to their accounts until June 20, 2023. After this date, all accounts will need to be upgraded to a subscription plan or they will be closed.

Are there any additional fees or charges that I should be aware of?

We do not charge any additional fees to conduct day-to-day banking. We only charge a fee to add money by cryptocurrencies and debit or credit cards. We have to do this as the cost to fund an account with these methods is too high for us to maintain as a free method.

Is there a minimum balance requirement to maintain my subscription-based account?

No, we do not have a minimum balance requirement.

How can I pay for the new plans?

You can pay via Debit or Credit Card. We accept all major networks like Amex, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

Can I pay annually?

No, we don’t offer annual payments at this time.

What happens if I am approved for an account but choose not to sign up for a plan?

If you choose not to sign up for a plan, we will not be able to open a banking account for you.

I want my information to be deleted. What can I do?

Due to regulatory requirements, we need to retain your information after you submit an application for a period of time depending on the information submitted.

Do you require a credit card to open an account?

We require a payment card to be on file to pay for your account.

How can I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription by contacting our support team through our web or mobile apps.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my subscription?

We do not offer refunds once a subscription has been purchased. If you cancel your subscription you will not be charged for the upcoming month.

What will happen to my bank account if I fail to renew my subscription?

We will freeze your bank account 3 days after a failure to renew your subscription. We will keep your account frozen for a week before proceeding to close your account.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my account?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your account by contacting customer support.

Will I continue to have access to view my transactions, card activity, and statements if I don’t pay for the subscription?

Yes, you will continue to have access to your account and have the ability to view your statements even if you choose not to pay for the subscription.

Will I always pay for the subscription via card or can I pay with my account balance?

If you want to switch to paying with your account balance, you can do so by switching your payment method to any Winden physical or debit card that you have.

We will not take money from your account to pay for your subscription.

How will I update my billing address and payment method?

You can update your subscription plan information including payment method by going to your account settings when logged into your Winden account. In settings, you will select the subscription tab on the left-hand side

How will my interest be calculated and paid?

It will be calculated on a monthly basis and paid out on the first of every month.
