Winden customers have the option to add a monthly or daily limit to their Winden Virtual Debit Cards. These limits are flexible and allow customers to change specific card limits whenever and wherever they want. Each virtual card can be customized to a set daily and monthly limit. These limits must still fall within the $5,000 daily limits and the $150,000 monthly limit set for all of Winden's cards.

Daily limits will reset at midnight EST while monthly limits will reset at midnight EST on the first calendar day of every month. Winden allows its customers to have up to 25 virtual cards. Customized spend limits allow customers to have more control over their online purchases because they can set daily limits and can customize their virtual cards for any vendor or purchase type from small fixed payments to large pay-as-you-go subscriptions.

To adjust the spend limits of your Winden virtual cards you will need to go to the card section of your Winden app by clicking on the Cards tab.

From there you will select the card you want to change the limits for by clicking on the card information.

Then you will click on the Limits button.

From here you will see what your limits are currently set at as well as update or change your limit amounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do my limits reset?

Daily limits reset at 12.00 am EST every day. Monthly limits reset at 12.00 am EST on the first calendar day of each month.

How can I see my card limits?

You can see your limits by going to app.winden.co/cards or the ‘Cards’ tab on your mobile app. Once there, select any active (not frozen or closed) virtual card to set your limits.

Can your support team change my limits for me?

No, our team cannot change your limits for you. All customers have full control over the limits when logged onto their account through a web browser or the mobile app.

What is the difference between account level limits and card limits? How do they work together?

Account level limits represent the total limit that you have on your account for all your physical and virtual cards. We currently have account limits for only daily card transactions.

It is best to explain this with an example:

Let’s assume that you have a physical card and two virtual cards. Your physical card has no daily limit. For your virtual cards, you have set a $2,000 daily limit on virtual card 1 and a $4,000 daily limit on virtual card 2. Finally, you have an account level limit of $5,000 for daily card purchases.

Now, let’s say that you have spent $3,000 on your physical card in a day and $2,000 on virtual card 1. You may think that you still have $4,000 limit on your virtual card 2, but since your account level limit is $5,000 and you have reached that limit, you cannot spend any more from any of your cards for that day.

My transaction was declined because I went over my limit. However, I had available limit on my card. What is happening here?

There can be two main reasons why you think you have a remaining limit while your transaction has been declined.

The first one is that you might think that you have a remaining daily limit while your transaction is putting you over your monthly limit. Alternatively, you might think that you still have enough monthly limit remaining even though your transaction is putting you over your daily limit.

The second one is when you have enough daily and monthly limit on your card, but you are going over your account level limit.

Make sure to check the remaining card purchases limit on your account to ensure you have enough limits. If you still think that there is something wrong, please make sure to contact our support team to resolve your issue.

What will happen to my previous cards? Will I be able to set limits on them too?

You can set limits to any card that is active. If you have frozen a card, make sure to unfreeze it to set a limit.

How often can I change my card limits?

You can change your limits as often as you want. There is no limit or penalty to changing your limits.

If, however, you try to reduce your daily or monthly limit to an amount that is lower than your respective daily or monthly card purchases, you will not be able to do so.

Do I have to set a limit? What is my daily or monthly limit on a card if I haven’t set any limits?

No, you do not need to set a daily or monthly limit. You can set daily or monthly limits. You can set daily and monthly limits. You can also set no daily or monthly limits.

If you have not set any limits, your card purchases would only be limited by your account level limits.
